User :   I have had chronic abdominal pain for 5 months now - no other symptoms at all. No diarrhoea and no real constipation. Can't work out what it could be. Possibly Chronic Functional Abdominal Pain Sydrome?? Please help!
Doctor :   Hi
User :   Hi: as you can see slightly confusing... thoughts?
Doctor :   can you please elaborate your symptoms?
User :   abdominal pain - worst in lower right quadrant but can be in any of the four quadrants. Even into lower back occasionally. Permanent achy pain. Much worse when sitting down
Doctor :   what is your age?
User :   34
Doctor :   weight and height?
User :   14 stone 6 ft
Doctor :   do you remember how it started?
User :   appeared in lower right quadrant mid November - I still remember the day! It simply has never gone. Does come with a lot of wind as well
Doctor :   does it have any relation to food intake?
User :   food intake doesn't seem to change it greatly if at all
Doctor :   other than sitting down, did you find any relation to the pain and your activity?
User :   it is permanently there from 10 mins after I waken - sometimes background dull sometimes more painful. Nothing seems to make it go - apart from remaining seated nothing makes it worse
Doctor :   did you have any episodes of vomiting related to the pain?
User :   never
Doctor :   do you workout regularly?what kind of physical activity you have regularly?
User :   regular sport - soccer. Also a keen golfer. The pain doesn't stop me doing these things - it's just there all the time.
Doctor :   did you get to see a doctor regarding this?
User :   supposedly it's a functional bowel disorder - had an endoscopy which was normal. weird question but could any STI cause this one symptom and no other?
Doctor :   STI?
User :   I know - weird. Had unprotected oral (giving) about 6 months ago. This symptom started about 3weeks later - been concerned it could be something. Although it does seem very unlikely
Doctor :   it cant be functional bowel syndrome as you said you don't have any changes in the stool.
Doctor :   I need more time to go through your case.
User :   what about the STI issue?
Doctor :   i didnt get what STI meant?
User :   sexually transmitted infection!
Doctor :   ok it is not a STI.
User :   how can you be sure?
Doctor :   cos there is no definitive anatomical relation to your pain and STI.
User :   fair enough
