User :   and then if i should get a second opinion about the chronic pancreatitis
User :   and if that could very well be a possability
Doctor :
Chronic pancreatitis may or may not lead to Diabetes and it dependson the extent of damage to the pancreas
Doctor :
so you should not worry about it if the doctor says it is not
User :   i've asked my dr about it and he's only mentioned that i had pancreatitis after my ercps
Doctor :
ok
User :   which was acute pancreatitis chronic is different isn't it?
Doctor :
Yes
User :   the enzymes arn't raised?
User :   or not as much
Doctor :   fine then you should not worry
User :   and fatty/mucousy stools? could that be an indicator?
Doctor :
Bulky floating stools are an indicator
User :   no i mean for chronic pancreatits raised enzymes are usually not an indicator
Doctor :   yes
User :   for acute pancreatitis raised enzymes are an indicator
User :   but not for chronic
Doctor :
Yes enzymes are raised for acute and not chronic
User :   i'm talking about chronic
User :   could i have chronic and should it be something he could test for just to rule it out?
User :   i have the pain with no other causes other than minor SOD
User :   which they did 2 sphinctorotomies to try to fix
User :   liver enzymes are pretty normal
User :   nauea (which may also be due to the narcs)
Doctor :
Was the CT scan done for Pancreas to detect chrnoic pancreatitis
User :   and fatty mucusy stools
User :   never have they checked for it
Doctor :
You can ask your doctor if not see another doctor
User :   my doctor doesn't believe he has any reason to look into it
User :   what are the ways they can test for that?
Doctor :   Ultrasound and CT scan/ MRI are best non invasive procedure

User :   ok i've only had a mri for my spine to check for compressed nerves
User :   and when they did a CT scan they were only looking at the stomach and intestines really
User :   so it wouldn't me extreme for me to get a 2nd opinion for this then?
Doctor :   yes
User :   i mean if i had the begining stages of it
Doctor :
get the second opinion
User :   ok
Doctor :
but if the second doctor too says you do not have to worry about
