User:Hi Doctor XXXX . My 4 year old child is running very mild fever since last two days. The only thing abnormal is that her eyes sem unusually red and leave a lot of liquid semi solid waste around the eye in the morning.
Doctor:does she have any body pain, is she active or sleepy all the time ?
Doctor:is she having food properly ?
User:Yes she is having food properly sleeps well, not that active as normal but she is doing ok in general.
User:Not much body pain either.
User:Her eyes leave more than normal waste (I don't know the word for ir in english)
User:Eyes need to be cleaned 2-3 times a day because of that secretion.
Doctor:the description of redness in the eye and discharge could point to either viral conjunctivitis or a normal change in the eye
User:Ok. Though the eye lids are not swollen yet as I see in conjuctivitis.
Doctor:where did u see about that condition ?
User:Whenever I had conjucticivitis My upper eyelids were swollen.
Doctor:usuallly bacterial infections cause too much of swelling
Doctor:viral infections can be associated with discharge
User:Do you think we need to wait for a day or see a doctor personally today?
Doctor:there is no need to wait
Doctor:the earlier the better
User:We are getting an appointment only in the evening today. Any precautions till then?
Doctor:THE discharge needs to be checked , and if needed , eye drops can be prescribed to prevent secondary infections
User:Any eye drop that we can put today before seeing the doctor in the evening?
Doctor:for now, you can Try splashing clean, cool water on your child's eyes to relieve itchiness and redness.
User:Anything else?
Doctor:no need for any drops until, a diagnosis is made
User:Ok. Thanks Doctor.
Doctor:use warm water in a towel, to clean up the discharge
Doctor:most likley it may be due to normal sleep induced scabbing
Doctor:hence, no need for any prescribed drops
Doctor:once your doctor sees her and then decides if she has a infection, then antibiotics can be used
User:ok Thanks
