User:Hi Doc ,

My kid is 1 year 3 months old. Since a week , his sleeping habit has become an alarming one! Last week , he had his vaccination dose. Coincidentally , he caught cold and a slight fever. Since then , he has literally stopped eating and drinks only milk or some fruit.Apartly, he has stopped sleeping. Just 2 days back, he was awake for 48 hours continuously...he doesnt cry ot fuss but just plays!!!
His cold and fever has diminished but he is in a non-stop play mode.We even gave him Pedicloryl Syrup on the Doctor's consult. It worked only for one day but now Pedicloryl seems uneffective on him!
Please suggest me on what should be done as we are very much worried on his sleeplessnes. It is also affecting me the most as i have to scoot to office in the day and stay awake the whole night.
Please let me know at the ealiest.
User:Hi Doc
Doctor:Let me read your question first
Doctor:So your son is not sleeping after the vaccination
User:yeah right
Doctor:It is quite unusual not to sleep for 48 hours
User:the vaccination can be a coincidence
User:but this is the first time...he has ever reacted in this way
Doctor:It can be just a coincidence
Doctor:I agree
Doctor:so we do need to look deep and hard to find the exact cause
User:we gave him 2 doses of pedicloryl...but its not having any affect on him
Doctor:I am only a general practitioner
User:he doesnt cry or fuss
Doctor:Not crying and not fussing is a good sign
Doctor:it means your son is not in any serious trouble
User:but it looks very strange!
Doctor:what I would suggest is, consult a pediatric neurologist
Doctor:Yes, it is very strange
User:would get him online now?
Doctor:there are very rare conditions which might cause this
Doctor:no, unfortunately we don't have any specialists online
Doctor:instead you can post a question
Doctor:which will take some time for getting answered
User:actually i tried post this question but was getting redirected to the chat
Doctor:but I would advice you to consult a pediatric neurologist physically
Doctor:because physical examination is of very high value to make any diagnosis
User:can u plz suggest a good one at hyderabad
Doctor:You can go to the Apollo hospital
Doctor:I don't know doctors in Hyderbad, as I live in Bangalore
Doctor:but I am sure you should be able to get such specialists in one of the big hospitals
Doctor:generally you can find such doctors in teaching hospitals
User:my another major concern is about the treatment
Doctor:I can understand
User:there is high rate of causing trouble to the patient for money
User:so i wanted to check if u know someone
Doctor:but I can not comment on treatment before even identifying the actual problem
Doctor:Oh, come on, don't start believing everything you see on the television
User:thats true
Doctor:I agree that there are bad and unethical doctors
User:actually i had a bad experience with Apollo
Doctor:nut they are a minority
Doctor:then don't go to Apollo
User:anyways...i would check for neurologist here then
Doctor:you can go to the medical college hospitals
User:sure...will do
User:Thanks a lot for your patience:)
Doctor:I regret for not being able to help you completely due to my lack of expertise
Doctor:I wish your son will be back to normal sleeping again soon
Doctor:thanks for chatting with me
