Doctor :   Hi
User :   Hello Dr
Doctor :   Please proceed with your query
User :   My question is regarding Chickenpox vaccine for my 2.5 years old kid...
Doctor :   Ok,Go ahead
User :   I got chickenpox 10 days back and I recovered now. I hope it was not transferred to my son.
User :   Now, I am considering to give him a vaccine to prevent CPOX for him....
User :   However, by any chance, if he got infected and if he is in incubation period, will this vaccine help?
Doctor :   That is a good measure taken by you
Doctor :   Yes, it will help irrespective of whether he is in incubation period or not.
Doctor :   You can go ahead with vaccinating him.
User :   you mean, if he is in incubation period, will it suppress / prevent the CPOX?
Doctor :   It will not suppress it but prevent it.
Doctor :   It is better to get him vaccinated, leave the incubation period aside.
User :   Will this vaccine give pain, fever, etc?
Doctor :   Not really. By the way, How old is your son?
User :   2 years 6 months
User :   Dec 2008 born.
Doctor :   You can go ahead with the vaccination without any worries.
User :   understand, why I am considering the incubation period is because.....if he is anyway going to get the CPOX (if he is under incubation), why should I give him a vaccine?
User :   Otherwise, if the vaccine is going to prevent CPOX in either case (whether or not he is in incubation period), I am willing to give the vaccine....
User :   Thats the reason I am asking about incubation particularly.
User :   so, once the vaccination given, he will not get CPOX - though he is under incubation period right now? is that correct?
Doctor :   Yes
User :   Thank you, I will talk to my pediatrician to get the vaccine asap.
Doctor :   Sure, Do that.
Doctor :   Is there any other query that I may help you with?
User :   Should I check anything else before vaccination (like weight, having slight cold, etc.,)?
Doctor :   It is not required.
User :   Ok doctor, no other queries at this moment.
User :   Thank you.
Doctor :   Thanks for consulting me.
Doctor :   I will be available for your further queries if any.
User :   Thanks
User :   Bye
Doctor :   Bye for now
