User :   Hi,
I have been having a slight pain on the left side of my chest near the heart for the last few days, (Not severe)
Got my BP and ECG done and both were normal.
Could you let me know what the issue could be ?
Thank you
Doctor :   Hi
Doctor :
Ok, I read your query
User :   hi
Doctor :
So with your ECG normal
User :   Yes
Doctor :
an acute cardiac condition can be ruled out in the first stage
Doctor :
Did you consult a cardiologist?
User :   No.. I just got the ECG and BP checked at the Bangalore Airport Columbia hospital counter and a Doctor on duty told me that the ECG and BP were normal
Doctor :   Fine

User :   was expecting the pain to go away in a day but
User :   it still continues
Doctor :
May I know your age and gender?
User :   33 M
Doctor :
Ok
Doctor :
Is this the first time you are experiencing this problem?
User :   Yes
Doctor :
Ok
Doctor :
Do you have problems in breathing?
User :   no
Doctor :
that is fine
User :   i have been having a bad cold for the last few days but its more or less gone now
Doctor :   Ok

Doctor :
Were you taking any medications?
User :   no
Doctor :
Ok
User :   just used Vicks and once or twice did steam inhalation
Doctor :
Do you have Diabetes or family history of cardiac problems?
User :   no
Doctor :
Ok
Doctor :
So you do not have most of the risk factors
Doctor :
and that is good
User :   ok
Doctor :
the most common cause for such pain is Gastric problem
User :   Its been there on and off for a couple of days
User :   I do fart a lot
User :   sometimes
Doctor :
can have symptoms like reduced appetite, constipation, impaired digestion
User :   sorry for my language
Doctor :
and yes the flatulence
Doctor :
Its ok
Doctor :
I could figure out the problem to some extent
Doctor :
it does suggest impaired digestion
Doctor :
and as a result you are having those symptoms
User :   so do you think this can happen on and off over a couple of days ?
Doctor :
Yes
User :   Its not too painfull but.. just wanted to check if its serious
Doctor :
One more thing which I would like to check
Doctor :
is that if you press on the area, does pain increase
User :   difficult to find out
Doctor :
just keep pressing in and around that area
Doctor :
and find it
Doctor :
you can do it now
Doctor :
within 2 mins
User :   dont think so
Doctor :
Ok
Doctor :
Does the pain increase on exercising?
User :   The pain might be somewhere under my chest
Doctor :   Ok

User :   I have started to exercise daily for about 30min on the thread mill/cycle and only once in last 1 month i kind off got a catch aboyt 3-4 days back
Doctor :   Ok

User :   lasted may be a second
Doctor :
Ok
Doctor :
Cardiac pain becomes more on exertion
Doctor :
and shall relieve with rest
Doctor :
and also there shall be shortness of breath
User :   ok
Doctor :
And for further issues, have you got your blood sugars and cholesterol done in the recent past?
User :   no
Doctor :
Ok
Doctor :
Get it done once
Doctor :
and then also get an Echo done
Doctor :
as a preventive care only
User :   I did one RBS done
User :   not sure what that is
User :   but it was normal
Doctor :   Ok

User :   Is an Echo similar to ECG ?
Doctor :
No it is a more detailed one
Doctor :
where in the heart pumping shall be tested
Doctor :
along with the blood flow
User :   ok.. so Echo could reveal what ECG might not ? Do you think I still have a chance of having a heart attack even if the ECG was normal and my BP was normal ?
Doctor :   Echo is done to assess if there are any valvular problems

Doctor :   and then if it is normal
Doctor :
a TMT is the last test
Doctor :
that is to detect cardiac problems if any after exertion
User :   ok.. Thank you for your time.. what do you suggest.. shall I try some ant acid for the next 2-3 days and if the pain persists visit a doctor ?
Doctor :   that detects the cardiac problems if the ecg does not show changes in the resting heart

Doctor :   Yes, you can go for antigastric medications

Doctor :
as there arent any risk factors as well
User :   like eno ?
Doctor :
One good capsule is Cap Omez 20 mg twice daily
Doctor :
for 15 days 1 hour before food
Doctor :   Is there any thing else I can help you with?

User :   hi
User :   Can I get that feedback form again please
Doctor :   Please fill the feedback form say done when done.
Doctor :   Did you get it?
