User :   hi my son is under a consultant for migraines. he has been prescribed pizotifen 250mg to be taken every night as a preventative and an anit sickness metoclopramide if migraine causes sickness. However, these keep on occuring and it is causing him, me (mum) and his school alot of concern what else can I do as don't feel gp or consultant that concerned about them thanks

Doctor :   The main medical use for pizotifen is for the prevention of vascular headache including migraine and cluster headache. Pizotifen is one of a range of medications used for this purpose, other options include propranolol, topiramate, valproic acid and amitriptyline.
