User :   Hi my name is , my son who is 5 years old has been a little run down the last week, he gets ulcers when his tied, stressed or getting sick, he has had a stomach bug which all the family have had yesterday but has been fine today, eating, drinking, he is as normal, he just woke up and said one side of his head was hurting, I read if a headach wakes you up from sleep it can be seriouse. He is asleep now, no temp, no dizzyness or vomiting, could it just be a minor headache? I recently put him on some vitamins as well. Thanks a worried mum
Doctor :   Hi
User :   Hi
Doctor :   Has he had similar headaches in the past?
User :   No this is his first
Doctor :   When was the last episode of fever?
User :   A while ago, maybe a few months ago when he had a general cold
Doctor :   Ok
Doctor :   Let me brief you.
Doctor :   Sudden onset of headaches are of serious concern if the headaches are terrible and associated with other symptoms such as persistent vomiting, fever, loss of consiousness and so on.
Doctor :   In such cases, immediate attention is necessary.
Doctor :   If your son is sleeping well now and headache is relieved, then it just may be a minor one.
Doctor :   However, if he persist to have the headaches, I suggest you to consider consulting a doctor - pediatrician for physical examination.
Doctor :   Have you followed what I have suggested?
User :   Yes, he seems fine now, so I basically just need to look out for it getting worse and any vomiting or drowsyness ?? I just put him on new vitamins could that cause headaches as his never had one before ??
Doctor :   VItamins do not cause headaches.
User :   Ok, I think it may be just a minor one, he has been a bit run down and also gets unclers so perhaps that is the cause ?? is there anything else I can do??
Doctor :   As mentioned, watch out for the symptoms.
Doctor :   These symptoms usually are seen along with the headaches if its a serious concern.
Doctor :   Hence you need not worry.
Doctor :   However, watch out for these symptoms for the next 6 to 12 hours,.
Doctor :   if they don't occur then its probably a minor event.
Doctor :   Have you followed what I have suggested?
Doctor :   Do you have any other query?
User :   Oh thats a relief, He is very tiny, he was XXXXXXXX so I do worry, but I'm sure after a good night sleep he will be fine, I will keep my eye on him. I hope it is just minor as apart from ulcers and getting tied easy he is quiet a healthy boy
Doctor :   Do you have any other query?
User :   No thank you for your help.
Doctor :   Thanks for consulting me.
Doctor :   Bye for now.
User :   thank you..
