User :   Hello doctor. I am 18 years old and have a concern about my heart.
Doctor :   hi
Doctor :   Dr AAAAAAA here
User :   Every now and then my heart skips a beat. It feels like my heart stops beating and then it beats really hard. This happens for about 10 to 20 seconds, and sometimes longer. It sometimes hurts when it beats slow and hard.
Doctor :   since when you qare having these symptoms?
Doctor :   *are
User :   i've had them for a while
Doctor :   how often does it happen in the day?
User :   it happens once or twice a week, however, it sometimes happens more than once in a day
User :   its not consistent
Doctor :   do you have any other associated symptoms like chest tightness, breathing trouble, sweating?
Doctor :   skip heart beats are common in young people. if it is associated with other symptoms, then a cardiac check is required
Doctor :   maintain a well balanced diet
User :   no, but when it happens, my heart hurts a lot, i notice my heart stopping and concentrate on breathing
Doctor :   and drink plenty of fluids
User :   ok, i went to a cardiologist and they said nothing was wrong. yet, my heart continues to have these, "episodes"
Doctor :   as I said it is common in young people, and is considered to be normal. another possibility is if you are anemic
Doctor :   you could get these episodes
User :   i dont think i am anemic but I did research and I came across Premature Ventricular Contraction (PVC) and this is exactly what happens.
Doctor :   to have confirmed cause as PVC, you would need an ECG/EKG along with ECHO to be done
Doctor :   and these should be done immediately after the episodes.
