User :   HI....I am 26 years old guy....I get frequent headaches. Either I am sad or too happy. It is like I am completely different person in the two mental states. This has lead to low self esteem that I have been battling with for the last 10 years. This had led to constant self deprecation and it is effecting my decision making ability as well. I was wondering if this can be corrected.Any insights would be of great help...thanks

User :   It was when I was preparing for an entrance exam and I joined a crash coarse. Till then I was almost always in the top three of my class. For the first time I was clueless what was happening in the class and every one was well ahead. I could sleep during the crash coarse of 15 days. I was very sad
Doctor :   so how did the entrance exam go?
User :   After some time I tried to conquer this fear with hope.
User :   Whenever I got this feeling of hope, I use to get a surge of happiness
Doctor :   so how did the entrance exam go?
User :   well I failed it
Doctor :   I understand
Doctor :   please understand that, during periods of stress, and when you feel that you are being tested against all the rest of the candidates, and you have to be the best among them
Doctor :   it causes mental anguish, and if you feel weak mentally, even an ace student can crash
User :   ok
Doctor :   this is the situation that too much stress of competition has had on the students in this age of competitive education
Doctor :   But the failure in one exam, does not mean that u are a failure in your whole life
User :   I totally understand it now
Doctor :   there are many great personalities who have had failures in their life
Doctor :   AAAAAAA AAAAAAA XXXXXXXX da vinci and many others were failures , before they ultimately succeded
Doctor :   So please consider failure to the stepping stone to success.
User :   I was under weight as well at that time
Doctor :   SO it has been long time since the exam i believe, and its time to overcome that failure
Doctor :   persistant reminder of the failure is not good for the future
User :   true.....I totally agree
Doctor :   remember the failure, and the way you overcame it
Doctor :   as to be the main event
Doctor :   this indicates your resilience
User :   true....but I was wondering if I have symptoms of ADHD or bipolar disorder
Doctor :   and strong heartedness, and your efforts to excel will bear fruit
Doctor :   I was coming to that.

Doctor :   and probably, you may not , need meds for long time.
User :   sometimes it takes a great effort on my part of listen to the people around me....I tend to get lost in my thoughts
User :   ok
Doctor :   please do not consider what your people or peers suggest, as they most of the time give dicouraging comments
Doctor :   try to keep an open mind, and clear concience
Doctor :   ultimately what matters is what opinion you have regarding yourself
Doctor :   try to do the right thing, which you feel is right
User :   I usually get lost in the work I am doing and it takes conscious effort on my part to listen to them
