User :   Hello
I am approx 6 weeks pregnant. For the past 4 weeks I have had brown spotting, last Fri there was one occasion where this was red blood. I went to the clinic and had a blood test. My HCG count was 2845.
I went for a scan yesterday and they couldn't see the fetus, they said this was either due to it being too early or the baby hasn't been developing. I had another blood test and the HCG was 4438. The doctor said it was a reasonable rise but not as much as they would have wanted, so to treat it as a potential pregnancy for the time being. I have to go back in 10 days for another scan.
I also went to my GP - an appointment I had made last week and decided to keep. He suggested I might have a blighted ovum.
How likely is this? I am worried sick and am very anxious about the 10 day wait until the next scan. Please can you give me some advice. Many thanks
