User :   Hi Doctor, I have irregular periods for the last one year. My age is 31. For the last months, I have a heavy flow with long periods. I took an abdomen scan which said that I have a bulky uterus measuring 8.2 x 5.5 x 4.8 cm. Endometrical thickness is said to be 1.4 cm. What does this mean? Please advise. I am very much afraid and confused.

Doctor :   A "bulky uterus" may be suggestive of conditions, for example of, uterine fibroids, thickening, endometriosis etc.

Doctor :   the thickness varies during the phases of your menstruation
Doctor :   During the normal menstrual cycle, the endometrium becomes progressively thicker
User :   My Gynechologist has advised a TVS scan for me, doctor
Doctor :   The endometrial thickness, measured as the double thickness of the echogenic layers, may reach up to 10 mm.

Doctor :   its a very common condition in women . dont worry once the test is done you will be treated accordingly

User :   My professional life is slightly stressfull.... I am experiencing weight gain, hair loss and grey hair and depression quite often

Doctor :   you need to take a break in your life . stress is never good infact the number one cause in women for having irregular periods is stress

User :   I need to be doctor - What diets would you suggest me?
Doctor :   i would say along with diet you need to exercise too. if you cant then just take small steps in your life to make sure you get some exercise . like taking stairs instead of a lift
Doctor :   and parking your vehicle away so that you can walk
Doctor :   eat fiber in your diet
Doctor :   have a positive outlook in life .. remember its never too late to change things in your life
Doctor :   be a strong person and don't let depressing thoughts bring you down
User :   Sure Doctor - My only concern is that if my medications are going to have any side effects?
Doctor :   don't worry they are not permanent
User :   Once I get back to my norms, will I stop getting grey hair and hair loss?
