User :   my bay is both with big hearth what does that means
Doctor :   Hi,
User :   hello
User :   my baby is born with a big heart
User :   what does that means is it someting to worry
User :   hello
Doctor :   its cardiomegaly , it could be normal o sometimes coupled with structural abnormalities of the heart
Doctor :   How old is the baby ?
User :   is it some thing major concerning
User :   2 days old
User :   they had a scan and heart looks big
Doctor :   no,its common in new borns babies
User :   u sure
Doctor :   you may have to repeat the ECHOCARDIOGRAPHY ( scan ) once every 6 months to see the normal growth of the heart
Doctor :   yes, i m sure . I have been through babies having cardiomegaly at birth later after six months discovered that heart was alright
Doctor :   anyway its a situation where the baby has to be kept under observation
Doctor :   that is through series of ECHO
User :   because they said its bit worrying
Doctor :   have you got EcHOCARDIOGRAPHY of the babys heart
Doctor :   this test will help in knowing the functioning of the heart
User :   not with me
Doctor :   ask your pediatrician for the test
User :   because heart count seems to be ok
User :   which test
Doctor :   as i said it could be a part of normal growth
User :   which test should i ask for
Doctor :   many of the babies are born with more fat in the endocardium ( skeletal frame work of the heart ) which gives a false impression to the heart as big one
Doctor :   over time when the fat is burnt out then the size of the heart will appear normal in scans
Doctor :   also strict observation into baby's development is a must along with series if ECHO tests every 6 months
User :   thx a lot for the help i m bit relieved
Doctor :   you are welcome
Doctor :   Thanks for consulting me , kindly provide your feedback
Doctor :   bye for now
Doctor :   Take care
