User :   I have had for over a month now burning pains in my left side under my rib cage which goes round to my back and between my shoulder blades, it is currently now just in my shoulder blade.. the pain was constant like toothache the doctor prescribed co-codomal and also an anit-depressant for chronic pain releif and advised that it was a sketetol problem, however, no blood tests or x rays have been taken and I just want to know does upper back problems cause this much discomfort? and the pain killers help but how long will this last - thank you

User :   5 if it was short lived it would be fine its just without pain killers it is constant at some point on my shoulder blade or side

User :   gradual.. if I think back I think I noticed twinges in my side if I was sitting at my desk and its gradually turned into a burning pain getting worse and constant

User :   No..

User :   Without pain killers yes constant to some degree or other

User :   No, sometimes feel sick (not often) but have never been sick

Doctor :   There is no problem with the movement upper body( head, neck) right?

User :   I have visted an osteopath four times and he has loosened and cracked bits but still no improvement

User :   I take Omezperole for my stomach??

User :   No I take the same dose as I always have done before the pain started

Doctor :   Do you still have symptoms of acidity?
User :   No not really

User :   Yes I smoke approx 15-20 cigs a day, and drink maybe two glasses of wine a week sometimes none

User :   approx age 16

Doctor :   Do you any problem with bowel?
User :   No I don't think so, occassional diarhea but I think that could be the tablets - when I say occassional I mean maybe once a fortnight

User :   and its only one motion - not like I have diarhea all day or anything

Doctor :   Any problem with digestion?
User :   No - although I do have a very noisey, gassy tummy and sometimes feel the need to burp a lot?? not sure if thats any connection though

User :   Only the omezperole as mentione before

Doctor :   from what you have said it probably due to nerve pathology.
Doctor :   You have meet a orthopedic doctor right?
User :   Osteopath??? is that the same?? sorry don't mean to be thick?
User :   Are you still there
Doctor :   yes.
User :   So you don't think its anything to worry unduly about?
Doctor :   You have to continue the medication.
User :   ok how long will it take before its better
Doctor :   Also consult a orthopedic doctor.
Doctor :   He is different from Osteopath.
User :   Ok but does it get better or is it something I will have to live with
Doctor :   It will get better.
