User :   I have a small bump on my right vagina lip... Its more on the inner part... I only have the one.. Its very small... Under the skin.. When I tried popping it the only thing that came out was blood... I've been trying not to pick at it but i can;t help it im so worried... It doesnt hurt or bother me except for a little not from trying to get rid of it.... I do shave but im really worried because I found out a few months back the my ex slept with someone else about 8 months ago... would a STD pop up this late... Could it be HPV? Should I worry or go to a doctore?
Doctor :   hi
Doctor :
User :   hi
Doctor :
please give me sometime to read thru what you have typed
Doctor :
is the bump painful?
Doctor :
is there itching in vagina or in vulval region?
User :   No not at all... Only for a few seconds when i tried to pop it
User :   no itching
Doctor :   is there any discharge coming out of the vagina?
User :   just my normal discharge that i get during parts of the month
Doctor :   how does the bump look like? have you tried to look at it?
User :   yes i can see it... It just looks like raised skin... no whitehead or anything
Doctor :   so there is no foul smell in the discharge? and there is no white curd like discharge?
User :   no everything is normal except for the bump itself... I've never had this before... normally from shaving i'll get a few tiny whiteheads that i can pop right away but never a raised skin bump like this before
Doctor : now..there can be two possibilities..#1) it might be an STD presenting like this...or #2) it is a normal blocked bartholin gland duct
Doctor :   if it is #1) then you should be going ahead with the STD screening tests and a HPV serology test
Doctor :   to either confirm or rule out thee possible infections
Doctor :
and get the treatment both for you and your partner
User :   how long should i wait before going to a doctore
Doctor :
if it is #2) then you can leave it will disappear ob its own after a week or two
Doctor :
but since there is a high risk behavior in past from your partners side
Doctor :
we cannot rule out the possibility od STD/HPV
Doctor :
so what is suggested is that you should take the STD tests and the HPV serology as early a sposiible
Doctor :
along with a vaginal smear test to be sure that there is no associated vaginitis in you
User :   I've heard that HPV is hard to diagnose... But if that is what it is since i have the bump will they be able to tell with no chance of not finding something?
Doctor :
have you followed what i have said?
Doctor :
HPV can be confirmed by serological tesst
Doctor :
which is why i have suggested HPV serology to you
Doctor :
rather than suggesting other tests for HPV
Doctor :
have you followed what i have said?
User :   yes some... I dont understand all the terms but i get the point
Doctor :   ok
Doctor :
please provide your age, location and occupation
User :   21, wisconsin, student
Doctor :
Is there any thing else I can help you with?
User :   just one more question... i;ve read that HPV is something that can go away on its own... Is this true?
Doctor :   HPV lesions can come and go
Doctor :
HPV infection once you get it you get it
Doctor :
only way is to treat it and make it go
Doctor :
that too you should get both yourself and your partner treated such that there is no reinfection
Doctor :
and at the same time practice safe sex measures
Doctor :   Is there any thing else I can help you with?

User :   okay... thank you for your time
Doctor :   Please fill the feedback form, and comment box, and say done when done.
Doctor :   are you there?
Doctor :
have you filled the feedback form?
User :   yes...
User :   done
Doctor :
