User :   im worried about a bump my son has on his fore head, it looked like a mosquito bite and was swollen but has gone done, but its been over a month and its still there, it dosent hurt him and looks a little red, i took him to the doc and she said it wasent infected, its feels hard when i touch it, what could it be
Doctor :   Hi
Doctor :   Let me read your query
User :   ok
Doctor :   Ok
Doctor :   Certain times, if it is allergic cause, it does not pain
Doctor :   on touching
Doctor :   Did your doctor comment about it being allergic?
User :   no no pain and it dosent bother him, it was itchy at 1st but know its just there, no other symtoms
Doctor :   Ok
User :   my Dr just refered him to a dermatalogist
Doctor :   Yes, even I was about to ask about that
Doctor :   It does require an assessment by Dermatologist
Doctor :   to know the type of reaction
User :   i just over worrie about it and my appt with the dermatologist isnt untill the end of the month,
Doctor :   Ok
Doctor :   Since there is no pain, it is not acute
Doctor :   and hence you can wait
User :   if it was somthing serios he would have pain?
Doctor :   YEs
Doctor :   that would have required urgent help
Doctor :   as it can cause problems otherwise
Doctor :   now this is not an acute problem
User :   so any ideas on what it is?
Doctor :   This does look like an allergic problem
Doctor :   as due to an injury or infection
Doctor :   would have caused pain
Doctor :   Hence this mainly looks as an allergic cause
Doctor :   as it has appeared in a short duration
Doctor :   if it had developed progressively over a period of time
Doctor :   say some weeks or months
Doctor :   then it would have been considered different
User :   no it just came out over night and it was bigger it has gone down but not gone away and for the past 2 weeks it just staid the same. what should i put on it while we wait for the appt
Doctor :   Right
Doctor :   Since it is an intact skin
Doctor :   local application is not helpful
