User :   hello Dr.,
User :   my 1 year old daughter vomited 3 times today, no fever or running nose
Doctor :   Hi
Doctor :   Ok.
User :   Gudaftrnoon Dr.
Doctor :   May I know if she is having any stomach ache , or she is weeping of pain ?
User :   no, she is active and no crying, no temperature
Doctor :   Ok
Doctor :   Is she urinatig at least 6 times a day?
User :   Today morning while had her milk, she vomited a l'll and after breakfast she vomited a l'll. Urinating, we have to watch
Doctor :   If she is urinating 6 times a day , there might not be a grave problem, or else you have to put her on IV fluids .
Doctor :   If you feed your baby formula, try switching to one that is lactose free while your baby is sick. Lactose can make diarrhea worse. Your doctor may also suggest switching from formula to an ORS for 12 to 24 hours, and then switching back.
User :   but her having breast milk regularly... and eating also...
Doctor :   Ok
Doctor :   If you are breastfeeding, continue to give your baby breastmilk. Breastmilk has fluids and electrolytes needed to prevent dehydration. Your doctor may also want you to give your baby an oral rehydration solution (ORS).
User :   ok
Doctor :   Please ORS sachets and continue feeding with it at least 250 ml in whole day.
Doctor :   Brands of ORS include Pedialyte, Ricelyte, Rehydralyte and the World Health Organization's Oral Rehydration Solution (WHO-ORS). You can purchase these at most grocery stores and drugstores. If you don't have access to store-bought ORS, you can mix 8 teaspoons of sugar and 1 teaspoon of salt in a quart (4 cups) of water. This mixture lacks potassium but is otherwise a good ORS. You can supply some potassium by adding a cup of orange juice to your homemade ORS or feeding your child some banana.
User :   ok...
Doctor :   How many times has she vomited in one day ?
User :   today only she started vomiting, till now 3 times
Doctor :   If your child is vomiting, try giving him or her small amounts of an ORS often, such as 1 teaspoonful every minute. When your child is able to keep the drink down, slowly increase how much you give.
Doctor :   If your child keeps vomiting, wait 30 to 60 minutes after the last time he or she vomited, and then give him or her a few sips of an ORS. Small amounts every few minutes may stay down better than a large amount all at once.
Doctor :   Hope you have followed .
User :   sure... Dr... Thanx a lot... anything else to take care ?
Doctor :   unless dehydration becomes severe. In this case, your child may not need to be given fluids intravenously (through an IV) to replace fluids lost through vomiting . Call your doctor if you notice any of the signs in the box below.
Doctor :   Has abdominal pain for more than 2 hrs
Doctor :   any blood in stool or in vomit
Doctor :   has not urinated in 8 hrs
Doctor :   Thank you for consulting me, Take care
User :   thank you so much... wish you a nice day
Doctor :   wish you a good day too, Bye for now
