Doctor :   hi
Doctor :
how can i help you?
Doctor :
please proceed with your health query
User :   I am 25 years old I am a female. I have delivered a girl baby on Oct 14th 2009.I had bleeding till Nov 2009. From Dec to till now I did not get my periods. Feb 13th 2010 I had contact with my husband. I am feeding my baby I have a fear whether I gt concive.
Doctor :
ok
Doctor :
we can continue the discussion
User :   ya thanks
User :   so whren I have to take the home pregnancy test again doctor
Doctor :
when you breast feed your baby, there is something called as 'lactation amenorhrea' that occurs
User :   ok
Doctor :
in which there wil not be any periods happening
Doctor :
but you wil not release any egg also
User :   ya
User :   oh fine so mean to say then chances are less for pregnancy
Doctor :
so even if you have any intercourse at this time the chances of pregnancy will be minimal
User :   oh right
Doctor :   but at the same time not all women are same
User :   now a days condoms are not good doctor
User :   when I can put loop doctor
Doctor :
and also not every woman's hormonal status are same
Doctor :
so variations are likely to occur
User :   yes I can understand
User :   I am also taking lactare table thrice a day
Doctor :
so wait till your next period date or a month since your last unprotected intrcourse
User :   I consuly my gyne yesteray
User :   she said sine i am taking the pills chances are very less
Doctor :
and check beta HCG levels in case you still feel that you might be pregnant
Doctor :
yes, since you are taking the pills, the chances are less
User :   ok
User :   I did not get my periods after Novermber
Doctor :
but since the chemical build up of each woman is diffrent
Doctor :
you should test once for ruling out pregnancy
User :   that is the problem I can't calculate the days
User :   We had contact on last month 13th
Doctor :
its ok, it wil be confusing for you to calculate the days since you are in 'lactation amenorhrea' period now
User :   what would be the correct date were I can take the home pregnancy test again doctor
Doctor :
in that case after March 15th you can check for the pregnancy test by checking beta HCG levels in blood
Doctor :
which is more standard test than the urine pregnancy tests
User :   oh not home pregnancy test
Doctor :
no
Doctor :
since at times the home pregnancy test or urine pregnancy tests can come as negative when you are actually pregnant
User :   ok fine
Doctor :
so checking beta HCG levels in blood is more confirmatory and standard test
User :   In case if it comes positive
Doctor :
in case it comes poistive then it is for you to decide whether to continue the pregnancy or not
User :   I don't want this child doctor since my new born is only 5 months
User :   I want to take care of her
User :   due to hubby's compeltion we did a mistake I don't want to repeat it again will be careful herafter
Doctor :
if it was a normal delivery for your last child then you can still continue the prega=nancy and take care of this baby too
User :   no for me it was c-section
Doctor :
if it was not a normal delivery but a cesarean, then it wil be a risk to continue the pregnancy
Doctor :
so you have to go in for a MTP and D&C if you dont want the baby
User :   yes
Doctor :
and practice safe birth control measures
User :   so any tablets are there
User :   if I don't want the child
Doctor :
like putting the loop or since you are breast feeding the baby, you can take 'progesterone only' pills
User :   if I take that tablets and if i feed my baby will that affect my baby
Doctor :   yes it will affect the bay, when you chose to take the MTP pills, it should be taken under supervision of your gyne, and even D7C done should be a gentle one to avoid harming the uterus
Doctor :
which is healing from the c-section
User :   what is MTP and D&C doctor both are pills?
Doctor :
If choosing to do MTP, then you wil need to stop feeding your baby once teh tablet is given to you
Doctor :
and be under constant supervision
Doctor :
as the tablets will have severe cramping efect
Doctor :
MTP is medical termination of pregnancy
User :   oh
Doctor :
D&C is dilatation and curattage which is done to clean the uterus
User :   i know D&C
Doctor :
so with the effect of the carmps there is chances of the uterus sticthes to get ruptured causing you bleeding and risk to your life
User :   if its done cvery soon tablets is enough right doctor
Doctor :
hence it should be done when you are admitted
Doctor :
and with supervision
Doctor :
tablets are enough to abort early pregnancy upto 8 weeks
Doctor :
but the harmful effect of tablets on uterus should be kept in mind
Doctor :
since yours was a c-section
User :   yes doctor
Doctor :
and a c-section takes about 6 months to heal completely
User :   hope I should not get concive
User :   so when i have to take the blood test doctor?
Doctor :
usually with the 'lactation amenorhrea' chances are minimal
Doctor :
for you to get pregnant
User :   okk thnak you so much
User :   shall I take the blood test on 15th of this month
Doctor :
in case you feel early symptoms of pregnancy and to clear your doubt
Doctor :
do the beta HCG blood test on 15th of this month
Doctor :
have you followed what i have said?
User :   ok doctor
User :   yes
Doctor :
Is there any thing else I can help you with?
User :   I have severe body pain doctor
Doctor :   ok
User :   especially neck back and thighs
Doctor :
since when you are having body pain?
Doctor :
you can take Tab Dolo 650 mg 2 times a day for 3 days,
Doctor :
do not take other more powerful tablets
User :   ok doctor
User :   shall i still continue lactare
Doctor :
it might get secreted along with milk and go to baby affecting her
Doctor :
yes you should continue lactare tablets
Doctor :
if the milk production is not good
Doctor :
feed the baby often and take a well balanced diet with lot of dairy products
User :   on 15th if it comes negative do i have to check it again
Doctor :
like milk, yogurt etc
Doctor :
no, if it comes negative you need not check again, but
User :   ok doctor sure
Doctor :
if you do feel that the symptoms of pregnancy are there then check again after 10 days of doing the test
User :   i want to feed my baby atleast she completes 1 year
User :   ok
Doctor :
ok, that is good, but you need to give her other nutrition after she completes 6 months
User :   so tablets are there right?
Doctor :
as only breast milk will not be sufficient for her growth
User :   shall i introduce cerelac rice for her next week
Doctor :
yes the tablets are there but since yours is high risk case due to c-section recently, you shuold take them strictly under supervision
Doctor :
yes you can introduce that for her
User :   ok doctor
User :   where is your clinic
Doctor :
but better will be to introduce home based foods first
User :   shll i come and meet u if its positive
Doctor :   like mashed overcooked rice
User :   ok u mean kanji
Doctor :
if the beta HCG test comes poistive, you should meet your previous gyne who assisted you wit your last pregnancy.
Doctor :   yes, kanji, but not that watery as we take it.
User :   ok
Doctor :
Is there any thing else I can help you with?
User :   after i took the tablet i can't feed my baby right
Doctor :   no you should not feed your baby for 2-3 days to avoid undue effect of tablet on her

Doctor :
Is there any thing else I can help you with?
Doctor :   Please fill the feedback form say done when done.
Doctor :   Thanks for consulting HealthcareMagic. Bye for now.
