User :   I am experiencing little raised bumps on the back of my throat and tongue (where it connects to my throat). They don't itch or cause pain. Could this be an HPV infection? If you get genital warts on the throat, do they itch? Could it be a symptom of throat cancer?

User :   I noticed an unusual bump about a week ago (after an allergy test), and then last night I noticed a clump of about 7 bumps.

Doctor :   May I know if you have any difference in taste or any swellling in throat , i mean any lymph glands ?
User :   no difference or swelling
Doctor :   Do you have any fever ?
User :   no fever
Doctor :   Do you have any warts or sores in the genital area ?
User :   no warts or sores in the genital area
Doctor :   to answer your queries one by one ,
Doctor :   Usually HPV doesnt show up inside the tongue
Doctor :   It ususally shows up as sores around lips or mouth.
Doctor :   It can be Herpes Simplex , rather than HPV.
Doctor :   I shall give you a differential diagnosis of the bumps : User :   ok that will help

Doctor :   2. It could be asimple canker
Doctor :   3. It could be an allergic cause due to food/mediicne
Doctor :   4.oral thrush
Doctor :   5. Any tumor
User :   what kind of doctor would I go to to check it out? ear, nose, throat, or general doctor, dentist?
Doctor :   A ENT would be the right doctor
User :   with the differential diagnosis, is it normal for any of those to occur without pain or itching?
Doctor :   Yes especially oral thrush, HSV, Tumors in the initial stages
Doctor :   you need to get a swab culture - sensitivity done
Doctor :   or a punch biopsy.
Doctor :   After ENT Examination.
