Doctor :   hi
Doctor :   how can i help you
User :   yes its regarding about my wife's second preganancy
Doctor :   Ok
Doctor :   are you there
User :   during the first month of her preganancy which she is now into her fifth week she started to bleed. We immediately showed to our doctor. She a blood testing for toxoplasma. The report showed that she has Toxo IGG positive and Toxo IGM negative.
Doctor :   ok
User :   We are worried by what the doctor said. She said that my wife has to take pills for Toxo igg
User :   Toxo igg shows 248.9
Doctor :   Ok what do yoiu want as an information
Doctor :   Ok
User :   We would like to know if Toxo igg will have an effect on the baby, say deformity and so on---
Doctor :   See the Toxoplasmosis if infected during the pregnancy can trnamit to the baby in more thatn 50% of cases
User :   And that should we take the drug presicibed which is Ecosprin-75
Doctor :   That is when the mother has the infection
Doctor :   If there is a previous infection which is 6 months earlier to conception or getting pregnany it transmits very rarely
Doctor :   and the mother has the IgG antibodies for it
Doctor :   If she has IgM antibodies it is recent infection and not an active infection
Doctor :   but an acute infection
User :   But how can we know that my wife had it 6 months earlier?
User :   prior to conception?
Doctor :   The IgG indicates a past infection
User :   Do you think my wife should take Ecosprin-75
Doctor :   ECospirin 75 is an antiplatelet drug I have no idea why the doctor has given it to your wife
Doctor :   So its better you clarify from her and if it related to her
Doctor :   I think the titres are monitored about the infection of toxoplasmosis
User :   Do you have any comments for bleeding?
User :   What is titres?
Doctor :   See the first trimester bleeding has many reasons
Doctor :   and infection, an abortion, an ectopic pregnancy, local causes
Doctor :   So is the pregnancy test done after bleeding
User :   bleeding comes only once in a while and the doc has given a pill duphaston
User :   She is now resting much of the time
Doctor :   ok
User :   its not now like every dasy
Doctor :   Ok
Doctor :   Sowhat was the doctors opinion
Doctor :   Is it an threatened abortion a
Doctor :   and she has given Duphaston for it
Doctor :   ????
Doctor :   Unless the diagnosis made for the bleeding I cant give you info why the Duphaston is given
User :   She said the pill will strengthened the conception
User :   May I know your name ?
Doctor :   I am Dr Anurag
Doctor :   Ok
Doctor :   Usually the Duphaston is given to treat a threatened abortion
Doctor :   So it will protect the pregnancy
User :   So in short should we worry too much about Toxo igg?
Doctor :   So might be your wife has threatened abortion whihc is the common cause of bleeding in 5th week
Doctor :   Not exactly
Doctor :   The cause of threatened abortion was to be investigated and so was the Ig G for toxoplasma done
Doctor :   So now you ask your doctor whether what could be the time of her infection
Doctor :   If it is a past infection there wont be problem
Doctor :   Usually such titres are done preconceptionally
Doctor :   and if the titres are elevated the couple are advised ot refrain for 6 months to get pregnancy
Doctor :   I think i have given enough info by now
Doctor :   Does she had any abortions earlier
User :   no
Doctor :   how was the previous pregnancy
Doctor :   Was it good and any complications
Doctor :   Were the IgG titres done then?
User :   no complications which was 9 years back
User :   it was not done
Doctor :   Ok
Doctor :   SO i guess it wont be a worry
Doctor :   Ok
Doctor :   Thanks for consulting, bye
User :   thanks
Doctor :   Whic
Doctor :   country are you chating from?
