User :   yesterday my 7 year old daughter asked me to come help her wipe after a bowell movement because there was blood. I was shocked to see how much blood was in the toilet on her bottom, etc., She had complained last week about her stomach hurting but has not complained in the last few days. She takes Risperdal and Vyvanse for autism and add/adhd. After I cleaned her up she acted fine. She is prone to pass large stools I asked if it hurt when she went to the bathroom and she said no. What should I do?
Doctor :   Hi Ia m dr.
Doctor :   This happened because the stool damaged the mucosa of the anal canal
Doctor :   it is local injury of mucosa
User :   I examined her rectal opening and couldn't see any kind of a tear
Doctor :   Ok
User :   Do I need to have her examined by a doctor and wait and see if it happens again
Doctor :   But I suspect it will high up in the rectum if not in anal canal
Doctor :   What we see is exteranl AAAAAAA canal
Doctor :   we can not see internal AAAAAAA canal and rectum
Doctor :   I will siggest few conservative measurements
User :   Should I take her to a gastro doctor or what causes this
Doctor :   One time bleeding , when there are big stool in her, does not require Gastro
Doctor :   Try some tips and if repeat then get the Gastro opinion
Doctor :   This is my opinion. If you are worried that is your decision.
Doctor :   Are you with me?
User :   Yes, what types of preventive measures should I do. Is it possible for the medicines she takes to have caused this
Doctor :   Good Q.

Doctor :   Resperidol cause constipation
Doctor :   Leads to hard stools
Doctor :   1. She need to drink lot of water. 2. She need to eat lot fruit and vegetables. 3. She needs to do some physical activity. These tips prevent constipation.

Doctor :   or put the glycerine suppository in the high anal canal
User :   When I check her bowell movements she hasn't been constipated. Her stools are firm but not hard
Doctor :   The firm stool are also not good. It should be semi solid.
