User :   My boyfriend an I are sexually active and just recently he has been experiencing bleeding after sex. It's not in the the semen but it happens after he comes. A few months ago I was diagnosed with HPV and I'm worried that this could be my fault. We do not know what the bleeding is from and it's starting to get scary.
Doctor :   Hi
Doctor :
when does the bleeding exactly start?
User :   It's right after he cums
Doctor :
is it fresh bleed ?
User :   Yes. It stopped after a while but it's started back up again.
Doctor :
from when is this happening?
User :   It only started at the beginning of the month when my doctor gave us the "ok" to start having intercourse again.
Doctor :   doctor gave ok means were you asked not to have sex ? why?
User :   Because I was diagnosed with genial warts in November but they've been clear for a month now and we are still using protection, though we both know it doesn't prevent the spread of it.
Doctor :   condom will DEFINITELY prevent the infection, well let me continue with the bleeding part
Doctor :
does the bleeding occur even after masturbation
User :   No, not often. To me it seems like it usually only really happens when he has a bigger than normal orgasm.
Doctor :   does he have burning sensation while passing the urine or bleeding after passage of urine?
User :   No. He says there's no pain whatsoever.
Doctor :   fresh blood from the penis always indicates there is urethral injury.

Doctor :   HPV does not cause bleeding after sex
Doctor :
it only cause visible warts
User :   Right.
Doctor :
there might be a vigorous sexual act which might have caused urethral trauma
Doctor :
and due to the erection and as you suggested stronger organism there might be bleeding
User :   Right I remember reading that.
User :   So to help it stop, should we refrain from intercourse for a while?
Doctor :   the trauma seems to me minor and normal activity like urine passage is not causing the bleeding. it is only the heavy acts like intercourse which is causing bleed

User :   Right.
Doctor :
hence it is advised to abstain from the sexual activity for 15 days
Doctor :
cause the urethra takes much longer time to heel COMPLETELY
User :   Right. Can do. Thank you very much. You definitely helped out A LOT.
