User :   Okay history, I had Mono in 2008. I recently had the flu about 3 weeks ago. I am 300lbs, 5'10" 23 Years Old. High blood pressure for 2years and I have not taken my blood pressure pills for a year. I'm going to be honest. Friday I kind of, gave oral sex to 3 different girls in 1 day. Saturday, I felt fine, Sunday my eye kept twitching realllly bad. Sunday around 7pm my smile went crooked. Went to the ER thinking OMG A STROKE. MRI's and CAT scan showed no brain damage, no stroke, etc. Now Monday morning I wake up in the ER my face is DEFORMED. Can not drink proper, eat proper. Smile is crooked, blink only 1 eye, pain behind the ear, behind the neck, and feels like on the side of my neck.Released Monday around 3pm. I take my Lisinopril (generic for Zestril) for blood pressrure, my RA Asprin, and some Acyclovir (Generic for Zovirax) 400mg tablets. Now, They have me on MethyPREDNISoione Tablets USP 4mg. I then have been experiencing like small shakes in my hands (not like real shaking) but like ANXIETY and realllly nervous like I'm jittery. Is this a side effect of some of the meds? ALSO, I feel kind of off balance like I can't catch my balance, but it's not TOO bad just feel dizzy!!?
-How Long will this Bell's Palsy last??
-Will I Die?
-Could I have Parkinson's Disease?
-What about MG?? Myanthsia Gravis
Should i just trust the doctors and the blood work and mri and cat scans and stick with Bells Palsy and stop worrying so much and making myself sick???
Doctor :   Hi
User :   Hello
Doctor :   Let me read the query
User :   Okay thank you
Doctor :   Let me brief you.
User :   ok sorry it's so long i am just so scared.
Doctor :   Bell's palsy is a an extracranial facial palsy(referred medically as LMN facial palsy)
User :   ok..
Doctor :   This is in no way connected to your brain.
User :   yeah the nerves in my face but isnt bell's palsy like kind of the stater of parkinsons disease
Doctor :   Hence possibilities of all intracranial pathologies such as parkinsons disease doesn't occur.
Doctor :   No,
User :   even with the jitty hands and unbalanced walk?
Doctor :   Bells palsy, occurs usually due to an ear pathology,
User :   yeah the back of my ear hurts on and off on the "paralyzed" side
Doctor :   usually an viral cause.
User :   but i can type perfectly fine without looking at the keyboard
User :   i just have bad anxiety i think and i make myself sick
Doctor :   That is the probably reason for the bells palsy.
User :   could the new blood pressure meds and prendisone cause the jittyh and unbalanced walk also?
Doctor :   This again is in no way connected to myaesthenia gravis.
User :   im not reall shaky just on the INSIDE i feel like im shaky and nervous... but when i walk i feel like the BELLS PALSY side is balanced *thatll b my last comment sorry im worrying u*
Doctor :   Prednisolone occasionally can tremors.
User :   i just google everything and I am so scared it could be parkinsons disease because it says there is no true cat scan mri blood work test for it
Doctor :   But I wouldn't suggest you to stop the medication.
User :   Ok
Doctor :   Parkinsons disease have a gradual occurrence.
User :   whats that mean
Doctor :   let me explain that,
User :   alright
Doctor :   parkinsonism is diagnosed in an individual who have been having long standing history of tremors
Doctor :   with stiffness
User :   in more areas then 1 right? only stiffness i ever have is neck but who doesnt i guess
Doctor :   other features of slowness in every activity are seen.
User :   just with this "bells palsy
Doctor :   They occur usually after an age of 35 to 40 years.
Doctor :   Yes, you are right.
User :   i just feel weak all over i guess maybe that's just the BP and me being scared?
Doctor :   the tremors are seen in almost all limbs and so are the stiffness
User :   and the meds
Doctor :   your symptoms (tremors) are morelikely secondary to the steroid and anxiety.
User :   OK and 1 last question and ill exit out of the chat and leave u alone lol
Doctor :   Bells palsy should improve in a weeks time following steroid,
User :   my eye wont stop watering and when i lay down in the bed flat and just clear my mind i feel calm and better and not so bad, you think that is the anxiety kind of taking over me and worrying myself?
Doctor :   watering of the eyes is due to bells palsy.
User :   ok.
Doctor :   Bells palsy causes weakness of eye lid muscle.
Doctor :   this causes inability to close the eye lid properly.
User :   yeah i noticed cant close my right eye
Doctor :   Watering occurs because of this inability.
Doctor :   All these symptoms will improve with steroids, and you need not worry.
Doctor :   steroid therapy will be slowly tapered and stopped.
Doctor :   After they find improvement.
Doctor :   In the mean time.
Doctor :   I also suggest you these measures
Doctor :   1. Keep you eye closed by sticking a microplaster when you lie to sleep
Doctor :   2. Continue with the medication steroid
Doctor :   3. You can visit a physiotherapist
Doctor :   who will suggest you few exercises to treat the weakness
Doctor :   thus aiding in rapid recovery.
Doctor :   Have you followed what I have suggested?
Doctor :   Do you have any other query?
User :   Yeah i understand i was just wondering if you think anxiety is playing a roll with my coming and going of feeling better?
Doctor :   Are you there?
User :   When I lay down and just ease my mind and rest, Im not so jittery or "nervous"
User :   but when im googling every disease like lyme disease, parkinson disease i get real hot and scared and jittery
Doctor :   The google information is for enlightenment alone.
Doctor :   You need not get anxious by what you read.
Doctor :   Your symptoms are very clear suggesting Bell's palsy.
Doctor :   And the treatment is infact steroid.
Doctor :   Consult an ENT doctor who will assess your ear.
Doctor :   Treating the ear pathology is equally important.
Doctor :   The other symptoms that you have, tremors, jittering is probably due to the medications and offcourse your anxiety.
Doctor :   You should be fine in a weeks time.
Doctor :   Have you followed what I have suggested?
User :   Yes, cool thanks - So what do you think could have triggered this? Blood Pressure, Stress, Overweight? I just recently got over the flu about 3weeks ago..
User :   I read Lyme Disease, Parkinsons Disease, Herpes (ew)..Ya know just the whole me googling and making myself sick.
Doctor :   The infections that you have read are the cause in about 20% -30%.
Doctor :   Most often the cause why this happen is not known, doctor's describe this as an idiopathic cause.
Doctor :   Since you report of an ear problem, an ENT doctor will probably be the best person who can evaluate you
Doctor :   to see if any such infections that you have read is the cause.
Doctor :   Of the causes that you have read, Herpes is important,
Doctor :   and few doctors may suggest anti herpes medications if no cause is found.
Doctor :   Hence, my suggestion to you would be to consult an ENT surgeon.
Doctor :   Have you followed what I have suggested?
User :   yes so say it was the herpes I dont know just throwing a shot out of a cannon, what does that mean now??
Doctor :   Anti viral medications for treatment of Herpes is available.
Doctor :   They can be prescribed by a doctor.
User :   I think I was prescribed by 1 just to be safe: Acyclovir
User :   take 4 times a day every 5 hours
Doctor :   Yes, that is the one.
Doctor :   If you have used them, then you need not worry.
User :   I do.
User :   I take Vitamin B-12 pills also, Good or bad
Doctor :   The medication, like I said is given as a precautionary measure along with steroids for treatment of Bells palsy.
Doctor :   Vitamin supplement aids nerve recovery.
Doctor :   continue them.
User :   Hmmm.... twitching and tingling in the lips and face and eye is that good or bad as of right now, BEING my 4th day withh BP
Doctor :   The twitching and tingling sensation can occur secondary to Bell's palsy which again should be fine in a week's time following use of steroids.
Doctor :   Blood pressure rise may have occurred due to anxiety.
Doctor :   And steroid therapy too can raise the BP,
Doctor :   All your symptoms are interlinked.
User :   Like mainly, let me reword this question: i was wondering are there any good signs or symptoms of your nerves are recovering
User :   from the BP
User :   or is it a tossup
Doctor :   Let me put this is simple words to you.
User :   ok..
Doctor :   The symptoms that you have are due to 3 reasons
Doctor :   1. Bells palsy
Doctor :   2. Stress and anxiety
Doctor :   3. Medication.
User :   Ok.
Doctor :   Symptoms of improvement will be improvement in the Bells palsy.
User :   ok like when i feel my eye twitching and lips im asking is that a sign that there's feeling trying to come back
Doctor :   Improvement in the facial weakness, ability to close your eye lid are the definitive symptoms of improvement.
Doctor :   Twitching, burning sensation can occur during initial stages of improvement,
Doctor :   hence I expect those definitive symptoms to occur in a few days time.
Doctor :   Once the doctor notices these definitive symptoms,
Doctor :   he is expected to taper and stop the steriod medication.
Doctor :   anxiety, tremors and the jittering that you have are also expected to reduce as the steroid is being tapered.
User :   ok awesome awesome
Doctor :   Offcourse you can help these anxiety symptoms with good and adequate sleep and by stopping yourself from being worrid
User :   im just reallly off balance thats my big like anxiety attack
Doctor :   I would suggest you not to be worried.
Doctor :   Continue with the medications as suggested by your doctor.
Doctor :   Medications with proper bed rest and if possible the physiotherapy that I suggested before
User :   ok cool
Doctor :   should make you feel better in a few days.
User :   thanks'
User :   4 ur time
Doctor :   Have you followed what I have suggested?
User :   yes
Doctor :   Pleasure is mine.
Doctor :   Do you have any other query?
User :   umm..well i could talk to you about this sexual personal problem maybe if ur up for it? i wont bumbard u with questions lol, it might be linked to this
User :   its nothin too bad
Doctor :   You can proceed with your query.
User :   OK SO, i havent had sex in...roughly 1 year. I had sex for this first time.....1 week ago (Before the BP)..Well when i tried to get hard I couldnt...finally i just put it in "non-erect" and i did like 5 pumps, barely getting hard..I ejeculated in less than, 10 seconds. Later that night I tried again, still could not get erect, Got erect, stuck it in, went non erect again, then in less than 10seconds again I ejeculated and THEN felt real shaky all over like weak in the legs, arms, etc. shaky for about 5minutes..I got a Ultrasound of my testicles sunday when i was in the ER for Bells palsy and they said i had a cyst on my testicle nothing 2 worry about...what are your thoughts could this be linked to the BP and what should i do about my erectile problem and premature ejaculation..23 yrs old 300lbs 5'9"
Doctor :   Erectile problems and premature ejaculation in an young individual (based on previous research result) are caused mainly by psychological factors secondary to stress, fatigue and fear.
User :   and..let me guess, anxiety
Doctor :   Apart from this, weight can play a role.
Doctor :   Based on your stats, 300pounds and 5 feet 9inch
User :   Yea :-\
User :   im very overweight i know
Doctor :   your are obese too.
Doctor :   The cyst that you had in the testicle is probably an incidental finding not related to the present problem.
Doctor :   Good health nutrition, weight reducing exercise and not trying too much for excellence will help you prevent these symptoms from occurrring again.
Doctor :   Apart from this
User :   it's just like when im bout to perform sexual activities i get very very shaky and nervous and my heart pounds
Doctor :   premature ejaculation can be countered by certain execises described as Masters and Johnsons exercises.
Doctor :   You can practise the Masters and Johnsons technique during the sexual intercourse,
Doctor :   this will prevent premature ejaculation.
Doctor :   Deep breathing exercises before sexual intercourse(during the anxiety attack), not thinking of being excellent sexual performer will reduce the anxiety spells,
Doctor :   thereby treating the condition.
Doctor :   Added to this, practice safe sex,
Doctor :   to prevent the thoughts of STD's which again is one of the top most reasons for fear of sex, and in turn the erectile dysfunction.
Doctor :   Are you following?
Doctor :   Are you there?
User :   yes
Doctor :   Have you followed what I have suggested?
User :   yes
Doctor :   Do you have any questions to ask?
User :   no
User :   thanks
Doctor :   Thanks for consulting me.
Doctor :   Bye for now.
Doctor :   Merry Christmas
Doctor :   and a Happy New year in advance
User :   merry christmas 2 u too and same
Doctor :   Are you there?
