User :   I am a 36 year old female and I have some angiokeratoma on my lower torso and chest. should i be concerned of a underlined metabolic disease?

Doctor :   may i know the exact location and duration since u have it ?
Doctor :   and how many lesions you have ?
Doctor :   Are u there ?
User :   I have had them for years although smaller ones are appearing now. Maybe about 25-30 mostly small, like the size of a pin head but I have a couple on my breast that a about the size of a mole. I have about 10-15 near my lower abdomen and maybe 3-4 in my groin area.

Doctor :   presence of a large no of lesions could be a sign of a condition called fabry's disease
Doctor :   this is a form of lysosomal storage disorder
Doctor :   due to genetic deficiency of specific group of enzymes
User :   i've also had headaches almost every other day,sometimes I wake up with shortness of breath, like I can't get a full breath of air into my lungs. can this be related?
User :   these started about 4 months ago
Doctor :   ceramide accumulation within the blood vessels, other tissues, and organs leads to impairment of their proper function
Doctor :   this causes variety of symptoms depending on the organ involved
User :   I also sometimes feel like I've had too much caffine and shaky rotten feeling that lasts most of the day and doesn't improve with food, lasting most of the day,but not anxiety feeling.
Doctor :   but presence of other condition like bronchitis and asthma and tension headachce can cause symptoms such as these

User :   a little, yes
Doctor :   have you undergone any investigations ?
Doctor :   bloating could be a unrelated sign due to GERD or indigestion
Doctor :   try activated charcoal tablets 500 mg twice daily for relieving the gas and bloating
User :   can addisons cause any of these symptoms?
Doctor :   no
Doctor :   this is not related to addison's disease
User :   okay
Doctor :   the treatment of the angiokeratomas require either laser therapy , or in some cases surgical excision
Doctor :   Recovery time on such an operation ranges from 3 to 12 weeks depending on location of the lesions, healing time and the possibility of complications
User :   i also have irregular hearbeats from time to time and postural hypertension when I get up from bed or pick something up from the floor

User :   sorry, yes!

User :   no
Doctor :   have you got any tests like EKG, or holter test, ECHO done ?
User :   no
Doctor :   since how long have you had the symptoms that u mentioned now ?
User :   about the same time, 3-4 months. most everything started around the same timeframe, except the angiokeratomas. just wanted to mention those in case they made a difference. Also feeling very fatiqued
Doctor :   you might have to get some tests done like a MRI of the brain to check for any lesions within the brain
Doctor :   and a few tests like EKG, ECHO for the dizziness
Doctor :   have you ever had any blackouts ?
User :   do they cause symptoms like these?

User :   no blackouts

Doctor :   the dizziness could be due to lesions within the heart tissues
Doctor :   which might be affecting the nerves within the heart
User :   okay. my father was diagnosed with IHSS. can that be hereditary?
Doctor :   yes, some cases can occur due to genetic reasons
User :   okay
User :   can lesions appear quickly?
User :   i mean suddenly
Doctor :   no
Doctor :   they need some time to appear
User :   but the symptoms, can they just begin to appear at the same time?
Doctor :   the IHSS takes time to present as symptoms even after having lesions within the heart much earlier
Doctor :   no symptoms appear some time after the lesions develop
User :   can these be removed?
Doctor :   the cutaneous lesions can be removed by laser or surgery
Doctor :   the cardiac lesions depend on the location
Doctor :   if they are on the surface , it can be tried
Doctor :   but within cardiac tissue, it is difficult as surgery on the cardiac tissue can result into more complications
User :   would an MRI show if any lesions are present?
