Doctor:Based on the details provided, you seem to have a localised muscular ache - probably a muscle strain / pull.
Doctor:It will resolve spontaneously in a few days, so do not worry.
Doctor:A few measures for faster recovery
Doctor:and pain relief are as follows:
Doctor:1. Rest to the affected muscles are very important; therefore avoiding unnecessary neck movements/jerks
Doctor:2. Heat compression on the affected areas gives pain relief; so you can use hot water bags on the neck.
Doctor:3. Topical antiinflammatory agents comes handy in such conditions.
Doctor:You can apply a thin layer of volini / diclogesic cream/spray on the affected part twice or thrice a day.
Doctor:4. Sleep in a proper position. Do not use very soft or very hard pillow. Not more than 1 pillow is allowed.
Doctor:Preferably lie on the side.
Doctor:5. If there is not much pain relief with the topical agents I suggested, you can take oral pain killers.
Doctor:Dolo 650 is good and since you felt better, you can continue them.
Doctor:Alternative medicines such as ibuprofen, diclofenac, etc which can be brought using a doctor's prescription are other choices in this case.
Doctor:You can follow the aforementioned suggestions and you should be feeling better in a day or two.
Doctor:A doctor visit would be needed if symptoms continue to persist even after a week or if pain worsens.
Doctor:Have you followed?
Doctor:Do you have any other query?
