User :   i was wondering what you know about abdominal epilepsy
User :   i've been suffering from chronic RUQ abdominal pain for the past 3 years
User :   along with nausea

User :   I've had 4 ERCPs, 2 Sphinctorotomies, and checked for all kinds of things
User :   is it possible to have abdominal epilepsy without having seizures?
User :   and no signs of confusion during pain episodes?
Doctor :   Abdominal epilepsy is a very rare form of convulsion.
Doctor :  
So one cannot guess this unless proved clinically.
User :   how is it proven?
Doctor :   It has to be proved by an EEG recording.
Doctor :  
EEG is an electronic recording of the brain activity.
Doctor :  
An abnormal and unwanted activity that can cause the epilepsy.
Doctor :   Have you followed?
User :   yea
User :   i see my doctor tomorrow, i'm going to ask him about that then
User :   i was just wondering what all you could tell me about it
Doctor :   Do you have a history of epilepsy?
User :   i don't know any family history i was adopted
User :   and i myself have never had a seizure

User :   i don't know what else i can think of the abdominal pain being caused by
Doctor :   Very rarely epileptic spell can give rise to abdominal pain.
Doctor :   And if your pain are not in spells occuring, then it may not be due to an epilepsy.
User :   they are down to checking for rare disorders now
Doctor :  
As epileptic spells occur spontaneously and usually not continuous.
User :   most tests are back normal
User :   there's inflammation on the abdominal wall- but they don't know if the pain is causing the inflammation or if the inflammation is causing the pain
Doctor :   Since it is a chronic problem, I suggest your doctors may be able to answer you better in knowing the cause for your symptoms.

User :   liver enzymes were slightly elevated last time labs were drawn
User :   and bile duct was dialated again but i think that's because of the last sphinctorotomy i had

The exact cause can only be found with clinical examination and investigations.,

User :   they are running out of ideas
Doctor :   Since I am a general practitioner and my expertises are limited,
