User :   I have a 99.8 fever, and shortness of breath. Lots of clear mucous draining into my nose and throat, deep cough once in a while. Have had this for the 2nd day now.
Doctor :   hi
Doctor :
User :   hello Doctor
Doctor :   ou may be having a sinus infection
Doctor :   you need a course of antibiotics for 3-5 days to treat this infection
User :   I have no sinus pressure nor pain in my sinuses. These symptoms were preceded by a very strong pain along the left side of my throat but I don't have a sore throat. It feels like a strained muscle
Doctor :   try some tylenol for the fever
User :   It's mostly the shortness of breath I'm worried about. I inhale about every 3 sec.
Doctor :   and clarinex once a day for the symptom relief
Doctor :   do u have any nasal blockage ?
User :   no blockage - I've been doing a neti pot in the morning and there's very little mucous coming out and what does is clear.
User :   the production of mucous is connstant.
Doctor :   ok
Doctor :   do u have any other medical problems like asthma ?
User :   what does the rapid breathing mean?
Doctor :   it means u have wheezing in case of asthma
User :   no I don't - I grew up with chronic bronchitus but have not had that since about 20 years ago when I moved.
Doctor :   ok
Doctor :   when was the last time u been to a doctor ?
User :   about 2 years ago when I got whooping cough
User :   2 years before that I got pleurisy
Doctor :   ok
Doctor :   currently u need a course of antibiotics for a few days
User :   can you take antibiotics only for a few days? I thought you had to do that for at least 1 week?
Doctor :   yes 3 day course would be fine
User :   what is making you think antibiotics would address the problem?
Doctor :   the fever and the dranage that u have
User :   OK - thanks for the input.
Doctor :   post nasal drip could be causing more symptoms in sinusitis
Doctor :   i hope u have understood my advice
User :   would Sudafed - the behind the counter one - be advisable?
Doctor :   yes
User :   OK - thanks again.
Doctor :   thats good too and can be taken instead of tylenol
Doctor :   you are welcome
